Hi! My name is Katie Castle and I'm a Registered Psychologist supporting children, teens, and athletes through life's challenges including depression, divorce, grief, anxiety, sport performance, social challenges, and relationship stressors. I offer a compassionate environment for individuals to make sense of themselves and the world and can help families find coping strategies that are tailored to their individual needs.
I am passionate about athlete mental health and combine years of experience as a competitive athlete and elite coach with the principles of child development to provide athletes, parents, and coaches with essential support. I can help athletes work through performance anxiety, achieve life-sport balance, cope with injuries, manage retirement, and move past fears and mental blocks.
Children and adolescents are continually developing and changing, often presenting new challenges. My goal is to help children, teens, and athletes develop coping skills for life and to help their caregivers understand and respond to their needs. Whenever possible, I support the use of a family-centered approach with a focus on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy. I also use and enjoy sandtray therapy and am trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
